Welcome to Clearview!
Clearview is well located between the village of Clarkson to the east and downtown Oakville village to the west. It was formerly part of the Village of Sheridan which was formed in the early 1800s. Sheridan prospered as a farming community, until around 1937 when the Queen Elizabeth Highway was constructed, cutting a swath of concrete through the former village. Sheridan would ultimately amalgamate with the Township of Oakville in 1962.
Clearview is a family oriented neighbourhood with a strong resident’s association. There are approximately 2,000 good size link and detached homes on winding traffic calmed streets with bike lanes forming part of the streetscape.
Clearview has a number of parks and open green space including Clearview Park, Wynten Way Park and Kingsford Gardens which are all interconnected by the Avonhead Ridge Trail that circles this neighbourhood. This trail along with Clearview Woods are designated natural areas.
Schools and a shopping plaza are located in the interior of the neighbourhood far away from busier streets. Along this western boundary is a green corridor known as Kingsford Park- a large community garden where fruits and vegetables are grown. There is also a leash free area for dogs and a children’s playground at the south end of the park. The elevated topography of this park provides clear south view of the Town of Oakville and Lake Ontario to the south. Hence the name 'Clearview' which is also a main north-south street that runs through this neighbourhood.
The housing types include entry-level link style homes approximately 1500-2000 square feet in size to mid-size detached 3 and 4 bedroom homes approximately 3000-3500 square feet. Clearview homes have a fairly uniform look with all brick exteriors and garages out front. Backyards tend to be a decent size and well suited to families.
In the interior of the neighbourhood, you can find basic household needs at the shopping plaza located on the southeast corner of Clearview and Kingsbury Drive.
